Sperm freeze

Work screen organization

The work screen where you handle cryopreservation of sperm samples is divided into two parts, general cryo information and sample information.

General cryo information

The top section of the freeze page for sperm analysis is for information that is relevant for all samples. In this section you can display different modules with consent, reason for cryo, storage information and more. For more information about available modules and module variants for this part, see Consent, Reason for cryo, Quality at cryo, Storage time, Deceased, Destruction decision, Order by dr, and --Approved tests.

Sample information

In the lower part of the work screen, information about individual samples is recorded in six different tabs. This is where you add the number of samples that are frozen or frozen samples received from other clinic. In this area you also document storage information, which samples that are thawed, destroyed, or exported to other clinics. The functionality is divided in a tab control with a tab for each task.

Imported: List of samples imported from other clinic
Freeze: List of frozen samples
Sperm thaw: List of thawed samples
Destruction: List of destroyed samples
Export: List of samples exported to other clinic
Summary: Summary of number of samples in each list above

Under each tab, there are multiple columns for storage information. You decide what should be visible, depending on your storage system and routines.
To learn more about each tab and options for each tab below.

Imported

The first tab is for samples imported from other clinics. The sperm sample receives an ID, and information about from where the sample was sent, when it was received, date frozen, volume and freeze information. The freeze storage system can differ between clinics. For  storage options, see Common Tab Columns and Import and Freeze tabs.

Freeze

The second tab is for samples in the freezer, including date frozen, volume, storage and method used for freezing. For storage options exclusively for freeze, see Freeze tab.

Sperm thaw

The third tab is for thawing sperm samples that are currently in the freezer. Date frozen, volume and method is noted. Date of thawing, ID if used in analysis, media and pipette.  For  storage options, see Thaw tab.

Destruction

Volume and method for samples is imported from previous tabs for samples that are marked as destroyed using the checkbox. Date of destruction and reason for destruction is noted and signed. For storage options, see Destruction tab.

Export

The export tab is for samples that are sent to other clinics. Date of export and name of receiver clinic is noted.

Summary

The summary tab displays the number of samples that are frozen, thawed, destroyed or exported.

Add samples and first row as template

The button for adding samples (rows) and for copying the first row as a template for all samples, is common for the Import and Freeze tabs.

Add sample
Use the add button (plus sign) to create the number of samples you are about to freeze.

Copy sample
Write the values you would like to copy in the first row and klick the button "Use values in first row for all". The information will be copied to remaining samples below.
Please check that there are no manual values in any other row, as these will be written over by the value from the first row.
